Cultures are largely shaped by the natural environment that they develop in, and Tiny is no exception. Natural heritage preservation refers to conservation, management and maintenance of ecosystems, habitats, wildlife species and populations, to safeguard these natural conditions for generations to come. Cultural heritage preservation is about discouraging the waste of resources and energy expended by prior generations, as well as the total replacement by new, energy-consumptive materials, such as processed lumber, steel, and plastics. Rich in both cultural and natural heritage, Tiny township has a champion in both in Erik.
Erik maintains that the best way of prioritising human well-being is through maintaining an ecological focus. Humans have lived in this region for over 11,000 years and have benefited from an incredible natural environment and continuing to flourish here requires protection of; biodiversity, our precious water resources, and fertile agricultural land and mitigating the impacts of climate change.
